Amy & Brandon: September 28th, 2019

Not to sound biased, but fall weddings have a special place in my heart. Once those temperatures start dropping, the leaves start getting crunchy, and pumpkin flavored everything hits the shelves – it’s kinda my favorite. Since Tennessee has such fickle weather, it’s never guaranteed what kind of weather we will get, or for how long! I remember when Amy and Brandon toured The Pick Inn for their wedding – way back in January 2018, it was SO COLD out that the lake was frozen over. These two braved the cold to come and meet me at the venue, and it was the beginning of our planning journey together! Fast forward to September 2019, these two gorgeous people had one of  the prettiest fall wedding days (and great weather days) that we had all year! This week we’re featuring their stunning September wedding details – keep scrolling to see highlights of their special day, courtesy of the “Dream Team” that is Big Hill Productions and Shots by Cheyenne 🙂

 – The Proposal Story, from Amy  –
“He surprised me by taking me to Cheekwood in December with all of the Christmas decor! He took my sister in law with us so she could capture the moment! He played and recorded himself playing a song on the piano and had it playing in the background. He gave me a book that he had written in for about a year about each day leading up to  the engagement. Buying the ring, asking my parents, and the proposal. He wanted me to read a specific page and I hardly could because I was crying. He said okay that’s enough (basically) and got down on a knee and asked me to marry him! He proposed under a gazebo that was fully decorated with Christmas white string lights (It felt like Cinderella’s chariot), lol. It was such a sweet moment, but it was freezing and he will never let me live it down that I was kinda ready to go after he proposed hahaha- I hate the cold!!!”

Amy and Brandon’s wedding day vision was an elegant and fun celebration with everyone coming together to celebrate their love! Their main colors were dusty blue, white,  navy, and  blush – which we incorporated in the florals and decor. They were both involved in every aspect of the planning, which was so much fun! We had a blast bringing their vision to life with all of our vendors – complete with our cake baker making miniature versions of their pups on top of their custom groom’s cake! 🙂

After 8 years together, Amy and Brandon were married at our new hillside pergola site surrounded by their friends and loved ones. We  incorporated chiffon draping and  florals as well as a custom rose petal “N” design in the aisle (done by yours truly) –  and everything turned out amazing! Another detail from their reception that we loved was the mix-and-match design of bud vases on all the tables with mixed blooms in different colors. It was such a unique design element executed in a beautiful way!

Amy and Brandon were such a fun couple to work with! We had such a great time working together, throughout the planning  process and on the day of the wedding. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Christian, Camille, and Cheyenne, for the use of their video and images –  and for contributing to the overall excitement and good vibes on the wedding day. They definitely made the day a fun one, for Brandon and Amy and for all of us at The Pick Inn! Be sure to check them out, as well as all of the vendors below who were a part of the Newton wedding!
