Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love spring wedding colors? The light hues, the greenery, the trees blooming – everything about spring is new and exciting. For us at the venue, it’s the beginning of our outdoor wedding season and that brings a ton of excitement as well! Kristen + Elan’s wedding back in April was no exception to this. Their wedding took place on the most perfect spring day and everything from the colors to the food was absolutely amazing. 🙂
Elan and Kristen met back in 2014 while attending the university of Tennessee in Knoxville. When I asked Kristen about the proposal, she gave me the whole story! For those of you like me who adore hearing proposal stories, here is her recollection of that special day.
“Elan and I like to take small road trips whenever we can. On this particular road trip we decided to go to Stone Mountain near Atlanta, GA. Up to this point we had previously discussed marriage and I knew he had been ring shopping… but I wasn’t quite sure whether or not he had the ring yet! While I thought our Stone Mountain trip would be a perfect place to propose, I had given up on guessing when it would happen. That day, we climbed to the top of the mountain and sat down for lunch to enjoy the view. There were about a hundred people at the summit, and as we rested I thought about how I had told Elan to propose to me in private. So, I thought surely it wouldn’t happen here! Before long, he pointed to a small patch of trees on the otherwise bare mountain top and said we should go check it out. Tired from our climb and content with our view, it didn’t seem like the most exciting idea. However, Elan insisted we go see the “cool trees” so I gave in and joined him in the small private patch of trees. As the sun set over the Atlanta skyline, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. :)”
These two lovebirds had a vision for their wedding day: to be beautiful, romantic, and fun! Their rustic-chic theme with spring colors was perfect for an April wedding. A light mint color accented with peach was used throughout their design – from the flowers, to the tables and dresses!
Kristen + Elan were such a blast to work with and it was so lovely to plan their special day with them. Their family and friends enjoyed the spring weather and the outdoors with lawn games, dancing, and some time around the fire pit!
