Samantha & Jeff: October 7, 2017

This week’s post is all about the Carmichaels! Samantha and Jeff’s rustic-themed fall wedding took place on a beautiful day back in October. There were friends, family, great food, and puppies. Yes – you heard me- PUPPIES! More on that in a bit. Jeff + Samantha met while working at Vanderbilt medical center. Samantha now works as flight nurse who quite literally saves peoples lives while flying in a helicopter… she’s basically a superhero ya’ll. 🙂 They were engaged in 2016 Riviera Maya, Mexico and then started planning their dream wedding. Their vision was a elegant yet simple event. They wanted a fun celebration where all of their guests could let loose and relax!

Special thanks to Sparkle Wedding Photography for providing these pictures for the blog post – check out their website here!

Their colors were based on the fall time of the year in which they got married. Reds and burgundy were incorporated in the dresses and the flowers for the bridesmaids, and the groomsmen’s boutonnieres were handmade with fall foliage inside of shotgun shells. For wedding favors, their guests got to take home REAL maple syrup from her grandfather’s “sugar shack” up north!

The ceremony site was perfect for fall decor – the bride’s dad made some amazing antique-looking shutters for their ceremony backdrop in between the two large oak trees we have on the property. We also used mums, pumpkins, lanterns, and some antique milk jugs to add to the fall theme. They were married by Sam’s grandfather, which was so sweet!

Something that Samantha and Jeff are passionate about is fostering animals with a program called Proverbs 12:10 animal rescue. She had a brilliant idea of taking some wedding photos with some of the adoptable puppies instead of holding bouquets – and I was all for it! The puppies were featured in their wedding photos and they got some nice glamour shots to help them find loving homes! (more information on the rescue below!)

It was such a blast working with Samantha + Jeff, they are so laid back and easygoing! I could tell that the main focus of their day was to get married and have a big ole’ party with their families. And that’s exactly what they did! With the help of the vendors below, their wedding day was certainly a beautiful celebration and one to remember!
